Sixth Quadrennial Session
East Caribbean Conference
I greet you in the name of our Elder Brother, Jesus Christ. In this uncertain world, it is a privilege to extend greetings to you as you engage in the business of the Master during the Sixth Quadrennial Session of the Conference.
Permit me to inform you that after forty (40) years of service I submitted my retirement request to the Inter-American Division and officially retired on January 1, 2022. The time came for me step aside and make room for the younger leaders I helped to train.
The Church today confronts complex challenges as she seeks to advance the mission given by our Lord, Jesus Christ. As you engage in the matters of this session, I encourage you to do more than accept reports and elect leaders, but that you will also answer the difficult questions of ‘What is the way forward?” “What else do we need to do to realize the accomplishment of our mission?” I pray that we will give greater focus, not to programs, but to mission. The crises of the times suggest that we do not have a lot of time left to accomplish the mission.
You have chosen a theme that is pertinent to the conditions of the world in which we live and to the challenges that we face in the mission of the Church: “Obstacles Aplenty . . . Overcoming is Victory.” Yes, be reminded that nothing is too hard for the Lord (Jeremiah 32:17); “with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).
Sis Daniel and I join you in prayer as you seek the will of God for these times. May you, delegates, and the churches, institutions and organizations you represent, be blessed during this session and beyond.
Yours for a finished work,
Pastor James & Margaret Daniel
